Hong Kong Museum of History
Established at July 1975 when the City Museum and Art Gallery was split into the Hong Kong Museum of History and Hong Kong Museum of Art. Collection of this museum represents the remarkable history of Hong Kong, a multicultural city known as the Pearl of the East(Oriental). The permanent exhibition “Hong Kong Story” outlines the natural environment, folk culture and historical development of Hong Kong. It is famous for the full-size models displaying inside the galleries. However, the museum is now planning a major renovation of the permanent exhibition which will soon be closed down within 2020. New exhibition is expected to reopen in 2022.

香港歴史博物館
香港歴史博物館の前身ははシティミュージアム及びアートギャラリー（City Museum and Art Gallery）である。1975年、シティミュージアム及びアートギャラリーは香港歴史博物館と香港芸術館に分け、二つの博物館になった。館内では香港．華南地域に関する歴史や文化資料など約14万点を収蔵する。常設展示である香港ストーリーは香港の自然環境、伝統文化、植民地期前後の歴史発展などを展示し、多くな復元模型が見られる。しかし、博物館常設展示室は再整備のため、2020年後半をもって閉館することがわかった。最新な常設展示室は2022年に公開予定だ。

Branch Museum
The Hong Kong Museum of History has five branch museums, they are "Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defense", "Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Museum", "Law Uk Folk Museum" and "Fire Boat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery" in the Hong Kong Island and "Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum" in Kowloon.
香港歴史博物館の分館が五つある。それは香港島にある香港海防博物館、孫中山紀念館、羅屋民俗館と消防艇アレキサンダー・グランサム展示館、そして九龍半島にある李鄭屋漢古墳博物館だ。
